The reception, the place of welcome and exchange

A member of the team will be there to welcome you and give you a tour of Pueblito Selva Chemuyil. The venue’s goal and priority are to accompany you throughout your stay and to make sure that you feel good.

VY Vinyasa Yoga offers you an opportunity to learn more on Vinyasa yoga on this 200-hour teacher training program. During this time, you will enjoy five delicious meals per day, all of them light and balanced, cooked with healthy ingredients and lots of love.

The sleep accommodations are in reserved spaces for nature conservation, so you can learn to interact with nature responsibly and peacefully, and become more aware of your relationship with Mother Earth. The beautiful locations where these trainings will be held are in warm, humid, close to the sea, close to the jungle areas, with easy access from anywhere in the world, stress free, and crime free.

In these times when racism, sexism, intolerance, and imaginary divisions between the human beings are separating people apart, VY Vinyasa Yoga’s mission is to do exactly the opposite: they want to promote yoga (union) with a bilingual yoga teacher training. The program will be taught in English, but you can speak English or Spanish.

They will have a translator available at all times, and the teaching staff can speak and teach in both languages. They encourage you to practice your second language in your daily activities and discussions and, if you feel comfortable enough, to also teach asana in your second language.

No matter in which country of the world you were born and raised; the color of your skin, your religious beliefs or your social status, the language you speak, your sexual preference, or your political affiliation; if you are a football fan of any team, or not, they respect you, support you, and you are totally welcome.

Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®). Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.

Ors (Hernán) Gutiérrez

Ors is the director of VY Vinyasa Yoga System which consists of a group of affiliated shalas where the model for the teaching of yoga created by Ors in collaboration with Marina Porras and others teachers, is officially followed. He has given thousands of regular classes, certified hundreds of teachers that have now their own yoga studios, and taught classes, workshops and trainings for students all around Mexico. If you allow him to, Ors will teach you with his particular sense of humor. What really matter is the non-violence with your body, the safety in your practice and in the classes.

Marina Porras

Marina discovered yoga in August of 2006 and since then, her life changed forever. At the beginning of 2008, she started a yoga teacher training and in April she started teaching multilevel Vinyasa yoga classes in a gym in her hometown city of Monterrey. She has taken 900 hours of yoga teacher training (three programs of 200 hours and one 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training program, all certified by Yoga Alliance) in different styles of yoga from Vinyasa based in Ashtanga, Mandala, Hatha flow, to Rocket and Vinyasa flow. She is registered in Yoga Alliance as an E- RYT 500.

 Things to do (optional)

On site, various activities are at your disposal. The environment and the atmosphere of Pueblito Selva Chemuyil will make them unique!

  • Cool off in the swimming pool – The swimming pool is carved in the rock and supplied in soft water by the cenote (cenote comes from maya dz’onot that means: sacred well.
  • Dive into the natural cenote – A natural basin to the infinite gradient of bright colors where the living water flows in cascade is available for you only a few steps away from your room.
  • Enjoy a variety of tastes, colors and smells in our dining area with barbecue, plancha, and traditional comal. This is an open-plan kitchen on a large exotic wooden-made table which can welcome up to 12 guests. Those who will prefer an intimate dinner will appreciate to sit down around smaller tables offering a more romantic atmosphere.
  • Enjoy the present moment and find your child’s soul around the circle of fire. The venue has a special outdoor fire pit to share special moments.
  • Discover the nature around Pueblito Selva Chemuyil and the local culture. Staying at Pueblito Selva Chemuyil will give you the privilege to meet the members of the Mayan community of Muuch Xiimbal. Local friends, who are also members of the community, often come to share a meal, without forgetting to share as well their culture, their knowledge of the region and their passion. You can also take a tour to the living place of the community Muuch Xiimbal. Gabriel is the founder of the community, and he will teach you what the bio region is. He will show you the temascal (a Mayan ceremony place) and explain you the importance of this place. He will also show you their cenote where you could cool off.

Apart from the facilities, there are many more activities you can enjoy during your stay in Mexico. Far away from the mass tourism, Pueblito Selva Chemuyil is ideally situated to discover magic sites such as:

This place is famous for the Mayan archaeological site that dominates the Caribbean Sea. The archaeological site is 16.7 kilometers from Pueblito Selva Chemuyil and Tulum downtown is 1.5 kilometers ahead.

Akumal became very popular for the sea turtles that come for a swim in the little deep waters. It is 3.5 kilometers from Pueblito Selva Chemuyil.

Xcacel-Xcacelito Beach

The beach is one of the most beautiful spots of the Maya Riviera, still protected from mass tourism. It is only 2.9 kilometers from Pueblito Selva Chemuyil. Xcacel is a stunning wild place; no shops, no bars, no restaurants. You can’t even buy a bottle of water! This beach is protected because it became a sanctuary of the sea turtles.

To make the place even more magic, when you go to the end of the beach, you will find a path which leads you to a cenote where you can also cool off quietly. During your stay at Pueblito Selva Chemuyil, the staff will lend you parasols, masks, snorkels, and picnic baskets so that you can take advantage completely of this exceptional place.
